So we have a fresh new look website and a new logo to boot! We thought that we would share this post to tell you all a little bit about it.
Here at MyTaylorMade we like to keep things in the family which is why the logo was designed by LT’s Godfather and a dear friend of our’s J.P.
J.P was the first person that I met when I moved down South from the Midlands in 2002 to study Music at University.
When I moved I lost all of my contacts so I set about finding the student union office to try and blag some D.J work at student parties.
I stood at the door, nervously grasping a demo C.D with a pre-planned speech ready in my mind of how I was going to sell myself; the person that opened that door was J.P.
He said that he would listen to the C.D and do what he could to get me booked at some student parties. He was a man of his word; he put on loads of good student events over the following three years and I D.J’d at nearly all of them.
They say that fate works in mysterious ways; I randomly knocked on that door all those years ago in the faint hope of bagging some D.J work and 15 years later the man that answered it is Godfather to our daughter and has designed the logo for our first ever blog.
Friends like J.P are one of the reasons that I stayed down South when I graduated and if I hadn’t of stayed down South then I would never have met Lorna and we wouldn’t be where we are today with little LT on board!
So this logo means a lot to us in more ways than one.
We wanted it to reflect the three themes of our blog; parenting, music and food.
Although primarily we started this as a parenting blog, the key for us is that the blog is ‘parenting based’ but not solely a parenting blog. We want the freedom to write other pieces and we will be doing all sorts with the blog from reviewing local restaurants and events to putting up recipes with a parenting twist.
So we do hope that you can follow us on our adventures and we would love to hear your feedback on our new site and logo; please drop your comments below or get in touch with us on email, Facebook or Twitter.
If you would like to commission J.P for any web design work or other graphics-based creative projects please feel free to leave a comment below and we will put you in touch with him.
Until next time…..
Be excellent to each other.
